Description

Samples of amniotic fluid are collected during active labor and analyzed for the concentration of lactate (AFL test).

The lactate concentration is automatically projected on the partogram  and by combining the result with the develop-ment of cervix dilatation a thorough understanding of the delivery status is obtained.

In this example an increasing lactate concentration (green line) in the amniotic fluid combined with slow, or stopped, cervix dilatation, was a clear evidence that this delivering mother suffered from serious dysfunctional labor.
